Aardman & more
In 1994 my Mum took me to the Cardiff animation festival to see the event and I recall very much being amazed by models from Aardmans Wallace & Gromit (the wrong trousers) and some from Tim Burtons Nightmare Before Christmas. Two of my favourite films and directors. I managed to get Nick Park to sign a Feathers McGraw card and he wrote something like “Wishing you the best” (I would have to dig into loft for exact words). I always knew I wanted to make “cartoons” since I can recall but I never knew exactly how you went about this. I am confident this trip inspired me to think that anyone can and also that in the UK it was possible to pursue the craft of animation. Thankfully I secured a place after some poor GCSEs in Autumn 94 to join Portsmouth Art School on a general art & design BTEC and then after a nail biting interview experience and portfolio review in 1996 I was accepted to start a BA in Animation in Newport South Wales, it would become an amazingly transformative time. Now I wait for the latest Wallace and Gromit installment out Dec 2024. 30+ years later since a grand day out, the wrong trousers and that initial visit to Cardiff how time flies indeed.
That is it the straw that broke the camels back local small Sainsbury’s didn’t scan in the discounts on treat which I fortunately spotted. Now can’t trust the basket at all. This after crummy staff and weird shop layout change I’ll just not go again I have other options only slightly further away.
The benefits of speed cubing… I have not done it have tried to learn the basics of solving and not got too far to be fair but I know @danielpunkass and family have gotten into it - The retro hobby that can help boost your happiness (say scientists) - BBC
Didn’t even know you could view cross posting option in macOS app to turn them on and off but the box doesn’t expand enough like categories. 3.4 (155)
@manton in theory could I set up linked in cross posting but have it off by default ? so I can selectively post by checking it on here…
Youngest has only just realised there are no trains to get to Gatwick on time tomorrow early morning - oh boy taxi Dad now required 🤦🌅🚂🤪👴🚕
Let’s see any good or snake oil. I’ve tried many 0% beers and they are great as spacers but Impossibrew claims no alcohol but still the “beer buzz” which often after a frazzled work day I think a couple of beers would be good which gets unhealthy quickly, especially if you really do like nice beers

Ha @manton’s photo of the green books as Christmas Tree on sale reminded me of the Snowman made at WSA Library before we broke for the holidays.
Day 5 of this stupid cold is also really annoying me now as I actually need to do stuff and some energy would be useful ⚡️
Edit on dad taxi - daughters request “can you take us early Sunday morning for our flight” …flight is Monday 6:20am 🤦 thank goodness tickets use dates - thankfully I am still available (though it maybe busier…)
