I don’t know if this is the case but as I am often on the beta app for iOS micro.blog I noticed push notifications toggle in app kept switching off I wonder if the updates / switching between release and beta make this happen. @manton maybe something to note.

Manton Reece

Interesting. Thanks for pointing this out, I'm not sure to be honest.

Vincent

This depends. The MB app will check if you have previously enabled it, and if you also have a push token present. If there is no push token present, it'll keep the toggle disabled — this was because of a bug where it would register a blank token... and so it looked like it would work. I'm not 100% sure if there would be drastic changes between Release and TestFlight though — maybe it cancels out. cc: @manton.

@vincent @manton interestingly enough, I was out for an evening walk and got some push notifications… but reading this thread I checked and setting was off. So push notifications despite being off 🤷🏻‍♂️

Vincent

@jemostrom yikes, I’ll check that then haha. That certainly seems wrong.

Jan Erik Moström

@vincent or it could be that I’m ”special” 😂

Jarrod Blundy

@vincent I’m curious what effect having multiple devices with the app installed (with potentially different settings) has.

@vincent I checked again today as was investigating a reader bug which would show the wrong text (can’t work that out) but turns out push notification is off again 🤷 toggled it back on

Vincent

OK, thank you — I'll revisit that logic and see what's happening with the push toggle.
